Trial of the Champion

Blizzard has a new patch around the corner and with it is a new 5 man instance, The Trial of the Champion. So far it has not been released on the PTR so we haven't gotten to play it. However, there has been some interesting speculation. It seems that the instance will consist of several encounters, five of which will be with the champions opposite of your faction found in the Horde and Alliance tents at the Argent Tournament. The other three are the bosses; Argent Confessor Paletress, Eadric the Pure, and The Black Knight.

Not much is known about Eadric the Pure or The Black Knight, but there has been some evidence of what Argent Confessor Paletress will do. It seems that she uses an illusion on your party that puts you in level 80 5 man versions of raid and instance encounters throughout the game. Gold tips: Enchanting

In tradeskills, enchanting has one major advantage to others in gold making. There are no deposits on enchanting supplies. A lot of the high end guilds require all of their members to have all their gear enchanted. Therefore enchanting supplies sells very often. If you are an enchanter and have a lot of extra materials you can buy weapon and armor vellums from the auction house, enchant them with high demand, but cheap, enchants, and sell them back into the auction house for a lot more.

Even lower level enchanting supplies can sell well in the auction house. People powerleveling their enchanting skill will buy loads of materials to max out their enchanting quicker. Also, people will still opt to use lower level enchants for their gear. You can farm these enchanting materials in lower level instances where a lot of greens and blues drop. My two favorite places are Stratholme and Shattered Halls. I choose these dungeons because of the high consistency of mobs, so I have a higher chance of getting green items to disenchant. An easy and effective method is buying or bidding on greens in the auction house that disenchant for more money than they sell for. The best way to do this is to download the auctioneer mod, it will tell you how much items will disenchant for on average. It will even find all the items that will disenchant for more for you, so you hardly have to do any work. If you are not an enchanter yourself see if you have an enchanter friend that would be willing to disenchant your items for you.

Gold tips: Herbalism

Herbalism can be considered one of the best money makers these days. Inscribers and alchemists need to use herbs for their tadeskills, but are often too lazy to collect the materials themselves. One source of income is going to come from Frost Lotuses. These have a 5% chance to be picked from any plant in Northrend, but they can be picked in Wintergrasp. The only only problem with this is that they are scattered, you have to use your ground mount, and it's a PvP zone, but if you are on a PvP server this won't make much of a difference. Wowhead says that these sell for an average of 20 gold in the auction house.

Most people farm Icethorn and Lichbloom in either the Storm Peaks or Icecrown. These too have a chance to drop a Frost Lotus, but also drop herbs that can sell fairly well. Wowhead shows Icethorn selling for 2 gold each in the auction house and Lichbloom selling for 3 gold each. However, these prices can vary from server to server. Also all of the herb nodes have a chance to drop a Crystallized Life, which, once you gather 10, can be turned into an Eternal Life. Eternals can be used by every profession in the game. If you are an inscriber you can mill you herbs into something more valuable, but I will go more in depth on how to make money with inscription later.

Gold tips: Leveling

Leveling a new character can be a difficult process. You start out with no gold and low level quests don't really have their rewards. It can be a pain because you need money for repairs, food, water, and new spells. So, when you start your character, grab 2 gathering professions rather than a crafting profession.

Crafting professions can be an expensive thing to level, but when you have 2 gathering professions, you sell everything you gather in the auction house, so you make pure profit. It's harder to sell crafted items on the auction house because many players put their crafted items on the auction house while they are leveling and it floods the market. Also crafted items are more specific, only certain players can use certain items (example: plate, leather, cloth, etc.), but everyone will need to use metal, herbs, and leather at some point in time. So pick up 2 of the 3:

Herbalism

Skinning

While leveling sell try putting all the white items you receive in the auction house. Gray items are always safe to sell to a vendor, but players can still use white items. If you have trouble finding out how to price all the items you pick up, try downloading and learning the auctioneer addon. It scans your auction house and gives you an average price to sell for every item.

It would be very beneficial to make a auction house alt. While you are leveling you may not have time to stop by the auction house very frequently, and if you are gathering everything in sight you might run out of bag space quickly. If you have an auction house alt that is parked in a capital city, you can just mail him everything you want to sell, and just log on to him whenever you put stuff up at the auction house, it'll save a lot of time.

Aspirant:

To be able to start doing dailies you must first speak to Justicar Mariel Trueheart at the Argent Tournament grounds and she'll send you to Arcanist Taelis for Alliance or Magister Elien Sunhollow for Horde. You will now receive the rank of Aspirant. You must then complete the quests Mastery of Melee, Mastery of the Shield-Breaker and Mastery Of The Charge. You can now do the dailies, Learning the Reins, Training in the Field, and one of the three quests, A Worthy Weapon, A Blade Fit For A Champion, or The Edge of Winter. For completing these three quests you will receive five Aspirant's Seals After receiving 15 seals you can turn them in and become a Valiant.

Valiant:

Now you talk to your race's representative and you will get 4 more dailies. A Valiant's Field Training, At Enemy's Gates, The Grand Melee, and, again, one of the three, A Worthy Weapon, A Blade Fit For A Champion, or The Edge of Winter. After completing these 4 quests you will receive 5 Valiant's Seals. After collecting 25 seals you can turn them in and become a Champion.

Champion:

Now that you are a champion with your race you can become a Valiant of another race. Since some of the quests for Valiant and Champion are the same you can complete 2 quests at the same time. Now you can do the dailies Taking Battle To The Enemy, Among the Champions, Battle Before The Citadel, and Threat From Above. For doing these 4 quests you will receive 5 Champion's Seals, which can be used to buy great rewards. For each quest you can choose either Champion's Writ, which you can use to buy reputation with one of your factions cities, or a Champion's Purse, which contains 10 gold.

A big money maker in World of Warcraft is gathering professions. People always need metal, leather, herbs, and enchanting supplies for more than one profession. There are two ways of making money with mining, one is flying around, finding nodes, and selling what you gather in the auction house. The other is buying materials from the auction house, making it into something that is more valuable, and putting it back in the auction house.

For flying around and farming nodes the best place is Sholazar Basin. Most of the nodes can be found around the outside of the zone and around the large pillars. For a more detailed map, see above. When finding items in the auction house and making them more valuable, you are most likely going to buy ore for cheap and smelt them into bars. Titansteel bars typically sell well, so, depending on the market of you server, you can buy the materials, make the titansteel bar, and resell it for more. Gold tips: The Sons of Hodir

Getting Started:
Before you can start doing daily quests for The Sons of Hodir you have to do a long but simple chain quest. The chain starts with “They Took Our Men!” from Gretchen Fizzlespark in K3 within the Storm Peaks. At the end of the chain you'll get a quest called “Mending Fences”. For this quest you'll be required to kill Fjorn and 5 Stormforged Iron Giants. When you kill the giants you'll get an item called Slag Covered Metal which starts the quest “The Refiner's Fire” which leads to “A Spark of Hope”. Once you turn these two quests you will receive the quest “Forging an Alliance”. After you turn this in you will be friendly with the Sons of Hodir. So in the end you will have done 26 quests and have received 249 gold and 36 silver if you are level 80.

Unlocking dailies:
Now the daily “Hot and Cold” will be available. Two more dailies can be unlocked after completing the quests “In Memoriam” and “Forging a Head”. After reaching honored, the daily “Spy Hunter” will be available and completing the quest “Raising Hodir's Spear” will unlock another daily. After reaching revered, the daily “Feeding Arngrim” will become available.

This blog is to show how people can do heroic dungeons in World of Warcraft with 3 people. We intend on making a video for every heroic boss as well as some extra videos dealing with harder trash pulls and achievements. To do heroics with 3 people your tank will want about 24k hp and need at least 535 defense for paladins, warriors, and death knights. For a druid tank you'll want about 25k hp, 30% dodge, and 3 out of 3 points in survival of the fittest. Your healer will want about 1600 spell power and about 200 mana per 5 seconds while casting. Your damage will want to do at least 1500 dps. With these stats you should be able to do the easy instances listed below as well as some of the medium ones.
